    • David Christopher Roach hmmmm. oops- gina M burgess( pictured here) - is not ROACH; and does not advocate nor support any of roaches political platform, necessarily. but the image is somewhat comical- as presented. sometimes politics has a great deal of absuridity to it. I also dont necessarily support gina, or her candidacy, only in that i believe in partisan fairness, equality, and allowing the voter s to make a fair, informed decision of whom to vote for as their bugetary represenataives in county govt. ( and apparently i cant spell, or type, either, tee hee. ) but again - the above image/ hyperlink is rather humorous, taken out of context..

  • Once again, the #2party in allen county is up to their usual dishonesty, opaqueness, and chicanery. They need to provide a equal link to your FB/ campaign page, same as the rest. You are the best qulified person for the job. Make a scene, make sure the local media knows, and make noies( earned media ) until they cave. http://www.allencountydemocrats.org/Candidates.aspx

Sorry to be coming into this conversation late. Thanks David for letting me know that my website (www.GinaMBurgess) has still not been hyperlinked to my name in the Allen County Democrats website. I had earlier asked for my facebook profile to be hyperlinked but that request was ignored/overlooked to. The person doing the website is also running for office. I'm trying my best to see this as merely unintentional. Please continue to review the ACDP website and let me know when you see my name hyperlinked and I'll do the same. If I don't see something by Monday night, I'll try to find an alternative way to shine a light on this situation and how only one Democratic candidate for Allen County Council At-Large is being highlighted to the unfair disadvantage of the other four candidates who may or may not have a website. The ACDP can't do much about candidates who don't have an online presence, but surely every candidate has at least a facebook presence or something. If not, those candidates should submit ino so that the ACDP create a biographical profile that can be hosted by the ACDP so that all candidates names are highlighted. The public deserves to be informed about who is running for office and the candidates, all candidates, have a right to be equally accessible to voters who want to educate themselves. A political party who doesn't provide access is interfereing in the freedom and integrity of the electoral process to the detriment of the voting public, unless a candidate fails to provide that information....in which case, its the candidate who is interfereing in the electoral process to the detriment of the voting public.

And I only put a "like" on the last comment because they don't have a "dislike" button on Facebook, but I wanted to acknowledge that you were keeping us all "in the loop" about whether the ACDP had hyperlinked your name to the website.

      • John Good
Gina - As I have stated to you before, I am not a spokesperson for the Allen County Democratic Party. I merely volunteer as the administrator for the website. As you well know, I linked your campaign website on the ACDP website within 24 hours of your request to do so. Not long thereafter, I was instructed to remove your link (but not your name) after the acting chair and the executive director both reviewed your site and determined that content there did not reflect well on the party. The text (from your site) is as follows: "In order to serve the people of Allen County, Gina must conduct a creative but aggressive campaign. Most of her Democratic primary opponents are simply not qualified for the office of Allen County Council At-Large. Worse, many of these opponents do not understand the job of county councilman and have already begun making “blanket” promises that simply can not be achieved. Be mindful that these opponents are not purposefully lying, but rather are so ill-qualified, so uneducated about the office they wish to seek, they simply don’t understand that what they are proposing is irrelevant to the office they seek. For this reason, someone like Gina must step forward and offer the voters of Allen County a choice….a real, qualified, can-do-the-job choice." (I have screen-captured this from your page in case any selective editing should occur by any party) I was carbon-copied the e-mail sent to you by acting co-chair Deb Morrone which states: "Gina,

Sorry for the delayed response: I have been 'down' with the flu for several days.

It was good that you could make it to the State of the Sixth. I am always glad to pass along invitations and information to candidates when I'm informed of them.

On another note, I wanted to inform you that your campaign site link has been removed from the ACDP site. It is not our policy to display disparaging personal comments about our Democratic candidates, especially those based on the personal opinion of another candidate seeking office. We will continue to display your name along with the other candidate names, but will not provide a link to the site. You can obviously choose to campaign in the manner you wish, but not under the banner and support of the party." Just setting the record straight as you are presenting only part of the story to others here on your page. -Cordially, John Good

John, so the Democrat party does not want a candidate who can get Republicans to vote for them too? Gina is the ONLY Democrat running I would ever vote for. There is a reason why the Party has ZERO elected Council persons in County Council...you guys endorse the wrong people!

Once again, so the Democrat party picks and chooses who they support in the primary, is that what you are saying John? The Republican Party puts EVERYONE on their website, even if they are running against an incumbent. Seems sort of odd the Democrat Party would pick and choose who they would endorse in a PRIMARY rather then let the voters of that party decide.

And I could understand if your complaint was valid, but Gina is the ONLY candidate I and other Conservative Republicans would ever consider voting for from the Democrat side. She is the ONLY candidate who understands the fiscal matters at hand. There is a reason why Conservatives like me voted for John Shoaff...but let me guess, you guys don't like him either?

Jim they DO NOT endorse though. They are staying completely out of the Senate race between Lugar and Mourdock even though Lugar is the incumbent. I appreciate that about them. Even in Congressional races where people were running against Souder they gave the challengers complete access to ALL information.

      • James A Jim McCoy Jr. · 286 mutual friends

No, they are not staying out of it. Did you not see the flier with the big picture of Lugar at the top and the tiny picture of Mourdock? It's subtle, but it manipulates the the idea of voting for Lugar as the party favorite. They also work to keep hand-picked favorites on city council; even supporting democrats over outsider republicans that they don't control. In this way, at least this was explained as to why they did it and it's open. We can always change the web site and resubmit it. The GOP candidate selection is just corrupt; which is why nothing will ever change.

Having had a busy weekend, I am just now being made aware of the above situation. I would ask that no further comments be made on this thread until I have a chance to review all prior communication. In the meantime, I would ask Jack Morris and Deb Marrone to permit John Good to hyperlink my name on the ACDP website with this, my facebook profile page. That would seem to be a compromise to the situation at hand, until the other matter/point of disagreement can be resolved. Thank you for your consideration Mr. Morris and Ms. Marrone. :-)

Gina- I see nothing wrong with you rgeneral statment about some of the other candidates being clueless, and "breathtakingly unqualified"( a similar statement was made by Tim Pape about Dede Hall , or words to that effect). You were not specific in telling the TRUTH- and since when is that wrong in politics? Integrity in the election system? thats simply too funny for words. endorsments? slating? theres something in state election code about slating- dont have the specific chapter and verse here. but since when is it wrong for a party to express a preference, but they should let the voters ultimately decide- thats the root of the word DEMOCRAT; DEMOCRATICALLY, DEMOCRACY, etc.. again- all candidates should have thier links represented, and again- the people should decide in their choices. to not include your hyerlnk- is to imply that you are technologically inept as the rest of other candidates. th their credit- tommy schrader has a FB page. YOU know about THAT. (tee hee..).

one other candidate has a FB page- and is being managed by the wannabe new party chairman- a "hired gun/carpetbagger- 5 yrs in FTW- what does HE profess to know about FTW- unless someone is spoon feeding him all he needs to know? and giving him all the inside information? YOU HAVE THE MAKINGS HERE OF A LEGITIMATE CONTROVERSIAL NEWS STORY- how the local Party wont play fiar , and give you equal opportunity, because your a whgite woman, instead of black, maybe you should put on blackface- and a OPRAH wig, and make a point( i did something similar to piss off Paine Brown-( black racist)- and got in his face at a FWCS board meeting, and lit his fire- he snapped, and i laughed.. I will forward this conversation to WFFT; and your campaign manager should send this link all over the local media- e-mail, FB pages, links, etc- so people can see how the SO CALLED DEMOCRAT party operates. Again- any publicity is good publicity. it will separate the girls from the men, if nothing else. Just because a lot of people have never worked for a union, or have been professional unionists, doesnt mean we dont know what we are talking about, nor are we not sympathetic to the plight,a nd concerns of the working man, the poor, the common citizens.. I didnt serve in the military so that the government could be subverted by the system itself. and the fact that the unions have failed totally- by their inability to elect a majority in govts, to prevent all these a-hole GOP'ers in ruining the USA, Indiana, and FTW- well- the proof is in the pudding.. so to say. and just beacuse someone is eminently more qualified than some other candidates, and speaks in general terms- is no reason for the party to stack the deck.

No Jim, there is no need to apologize. Part of the problem is that as a first time candidate I, and all the other first time Democratic candidates, should be getting more support from the ACDP. That support should come freely and equally. Secondly, the above timeline may be incorrect, which is why I need to do some research. Thirdly, I don't generally agree with censorship and that's what this is coming across to me as, perhaps unintentionally so....again, that's why I need to do more research. Fourth, the comment of "....You can obviously choose to campaign in the manner you wish, but not under the banner and support of the party..." would indicate that I, a Democrat, may be not be permitted to use the "banner" of the party, which I would believe to be the party symbol (either a patriotic donkey or the contemporary D inside a circle). I don't know that the local county Democratic party intended that nor do I know that they have the authority to say to any Democratic candidate who is in good standing at the state and federal level, according to state and federal charters, that such a candidate cannot campaign under the Democratic banner. Yet, again, I need to do some more research into this matter. I certainly would not want to use the party logo in an inappropriate manner if in fact I am not permitted to do so. As a first time candidate...heck, as a human being...I am going to make some mistakes. Pointing my shortcomings out on my facebook profile page using private emails and private messaging was surely the party's way of encouraging me to stay true to my platform of transparency. If that was the case, then to the powers that be....thank you. I will strive to maintain an even higher level of transparency where communications lie between my candidacy/my campaign and the ACDP, from at least the point of my candidacy filing foward. Perhaps that will clear the air and the sitation at hand. I, personally, am looking forward to making improvements on my end as needed and am open to doing whatever it takes to make me a stronger candidate, as long as I can maintain my principles and my integrity. :-)

I once was a campaign manager for a female congressional candidate( donna hagen) 1994- if she would have beat souder in the primary, well, history would be different, shall we just say.. she wasnt getting a fair shake from steve shine, and we picketed his HQ- corner harrison and main st- and got a lot of press coverage- "bib tent? give the girl an equal break".. so you should picket the JG offices, do the CHARLIE SHEEN MEDIA OFFENSIVE- be everywhere- youtube, etc. do you have skype capability? really out technology your opponents- and be everywhere all at once- 24-7. picket knuths house, for instnace- just for giggles, find out where john court lives- and raise cain. its all about out shouting, out noising your opponents, and those who would stack the deck in THIER OWN PERSONAL FAVOR, AND GAIN, VS THE RIGHTS OF THE PEOPLE to know that they are being sold a used car with flaws- AS LEMON, SO TO SAY, or at least- less than they deserve?

Thanks to everyone above for the support and varied perspectives on the situation at hand. However, I need to get some sleep and do some research. Any further comments by anyone on this thread will be deleted. Again, to Jack Morris, Deb Marrone and John Good, please hyperlink my name on the ACDP website with this facebook profile page (www.facebook.com/GinaMBurgess) until the other situation can be satisfactorily resolved. That way it shows a compromise between the parties and removes the slightest taint of "slating" on the part of the ACDP. Thanks! :-)

theres nothing wrong with being "edgy, and agressive"- if you play to win, that is as it should be- play fair, be truthful. and pointing out a n opponents "negatives/ flaws/faults, etc - there is nothing wrong with telling the truth. or expressing a political opinion, for sure. this is the USA last time i checked, and not AMERIKA.. I just posted this: WFFT NEWS EXCLUSIVE SCOOP- follow this thread- seems the local democrat party doesnt want to give Gina Burgess a fair play, or equal hyperlink to her web site .https://www.facebook.com/GinaMBurgess/posts/256887194401978?notif_t=share_comment to Marchelle Michel https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001002983094- Shes a truly professional news reporter, on the way up; and once you get some video news coverage on http://fortwaynehomepage.net/; you will have more ammunition to lock and load, and open fire so to say.. and post a viral video . I will take this all the way to MSNBC- rachel maddow- how female vs female catfights are treated unfairly, with respect to highly qualified white women are dsicriminated against by the so calle d party of diversity-in favor af a lesser q( NOT ) qualified) opponent- who is the "affirmative action slate"- who will stand little chance ofw ining in the nov general election. i mena- wreally voters arent stupid, and again- the people collective intellect will prevail.

‎Gina Burgess- I would make the party aware that all corresponcence, unless specifically noted "off the record" - as in journailism" will be posted in a public manner, on the internet- so the people will be informed, and the process will be made transparent. if the party is intentionally thwarting the more qualified candidate in favor of the less qualified diversity hire; then the voters should know- and its not about boobs, or skin color. either. its about who can use technology, who is simply smarter, and will be able to prevail or make the best showing in a predominantly republican voting county. but I also would not discretid the GOP's current "war on women" either, as being a factor in maybe skewing the results i n your favor, espeicially if the voters see, and undersatnd, and are properly informed of comparative qualifications, intellect, aptitude, and ability to utilize technology to be able to be accessible, transparent, and to communicate with constituents, regargind their concerns( and of course ability to spell, and type- which i evidently cant to- and think at the same time.. tee hee..)

      • David Christopher Roach reminds me of all the GOp presidentail drama? whittle the field from 12 to 2 . The back story is that the local democrats all want to be able to vote in the GOP primary, especially this year, because of the Lugar/Helmke connection- If dick Lugar is voted out- either in the primary, or the general election, then Mark Helmke is out of a job with dick; and same for Paul Helmke sycophantic hangers- on/ suck-ups( what was the bruce wayne birthday party speech, before Raz Algul burned down wayne manor? anyway---) the democrats dont want anycontested primarys- they vote GOP in the spring, and Democrat in the fall- unethical, fraudulent, and i have even heard andy downs "almost encourage" it- like- they cant prove it.. you know? And Paul Helmke is a "Democrat"- liberal republican- which is why he is so derisively referred to as a RINO- he cant defect- and abandon th elunatic fringe party, so he dabbles in Liberal causes, which makes others further question hs motives, and loyalties even more. besides- all Helmke is doing is killing time until his father kicks the bucket, and he can inhert the family fortune, accumulated through nearly 100 years of crookedness, corruption, and insider wheeler dealer stuff. ( such as control of the prosecutors office- throughwhich all the money and pwoer flows. lost that, and PFFFT!; you know? so anyway- Helmke is biding his time, dabbling- and will likely be either an absentee law firm manager( like he was mayor)- sign the official paperwork, and hire/appoint some deputy- to run things on the day to day basis.. ) hmm- sounds like tom henry , as well... ; Oe Helmke will cash in the frim, become a majority shareholder, and retire, or run for senator against donnelly, or Mourdock. they are all like vultures circling the corpse- waiting for Lugar to kick the bucket, or retire( hes over the hill anyway- but then again- SEN byrd- West Virginain - didntretire until what? 90 something? and was basically wheeled out of the senate, feet first, on a stretcher.. senators dont have term limits- and unlessyou make stupid statments about girl scouts, or something - in all seriousness- you are pretty sell set for life- senator for Life.. So this all centers on the Helmke/Lugar AXIS ( of evil? you decide.. anyway- every foreign policy debacle/quagmire over the past what- 20 some years- has dick lugars handwriting all over it; and lugar and helmke are both farily well despixed by the NRA/ gun rights constitutionalists, as well, especially in NE Indiana, and allen county. I got it all figured out. years of patient study, observation, note taking, score keeping, and pitting the 2 sidesa gainst each other, just to watch the cat fights/ dog fights.. for sheer amusment, and saying- "I did that"- political brush fires, watching the damabe control, the politicians running around like chickens with their heads cut off, and so on.. i've had sooo much fun playing politics, i wouldnt know what to do if i ever was elected- other than hire a deputy to to do the work, sign the fficial paperwork, and run all over town , kissing babies, cutting ribbons, presenting awards, and plaques, official ceremonial stuff, etc, and the rest of the time , hanging around the near by bar, drinking beer.. hmm- sounds stragely familiar? tom henry? or hanging out at the strip clubs, banging bimbos, and creating scandals, and sex tapes to sell in my retirment.. tee hee. in the oval office.. giggle.. but seriously- its all about the lugar- mourdock primary. and who wns- the slices of the cake..
